Cosplay, to be simple, means 'costume play.' While it seems to be used mostly by people making costumes for Japanese anime and manga characters, it has come to be applied to nearly any sort of costuming. People form groups either to simply share ideas or to organize mass attendances of events in themed costumes. On this page you'll find many links to pages full of advice, merchandise, and galleries of images at cosplay events. I tend to focus more on the Japanese anime/manga themed sites, but I'm including other more general information as well.
